Aspects of Note This Week
All times listed are Pacific Standard Time. For Greenwich Mean Time, add 8 hours.
MON: Venus conjunct Neptune
TUE: Mars square Neptune, Venus semisquare Uranus
THU: Ceres enters Aquarius
FRI: Moon square Pluto 3:11 a.m., Moon square Saturn 6:24 a.m.
SAT: Venus sextile Pluto

SUN: Mercury semisquare Jupiter

ALTHOUGH the exact Saturn-Pluto alignment is now behind us, we are well aware that “objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.” The two planets are still in very close proximity to each other, separated by less than two degrees. This means we continue to feel their combined influence. They will be our travel companions for many months to come.
.

After an event such as the Saturn-Pluto alignment occurs, astrologers start to pay attention to those times when other, faster-moving planets either interact with one of the two planets, or transit (cross) the degree where they aligned. These transits are called “triggers,” because they can reactivate the primary themes of the original event.
.
THE MAIN TRIGGERS in 2020 to the Saturn-Pluto energies are Jupiter’s three alignments with Pluto, and its one alignment with Saturn late in the year. (Teaser: I’ll be talking in depth about the Jupiter-Pluto alignments in Thursday’s webinar!) Those events are a few months away, however. Meanwhile, we will be watching times when the Moon and other planets activate Saturn and Pluto.
.
This week, the Moon steps into that role. Luna is square Pluto at 3:11 a.m. PST and square Saturn at 6:24 a.m. PST on Friday. This is a relatively “minor trigger” because Luna moves so quickly. We can expect to feel any effects for just a few hours on either side of the exact aspects.
.
But, given that the Moon will be in Aries, we’ll need to watch emotional volatility around those times. Angers and fears could be easily  evoked. For those of us on Pacific Time, it could just be one of those “bad mood mornings,” but others will be dealing with it more directly during waking hours. Remember to breathe and ground, especially before taking any action.
.
OTHERWISE, the planets are relatively calm as we turn the calendar page from January to February, especially as compared to the high number of major astrological events in recent weeks.
.
We ease into the new week with an alignment between Venus and Neptune in Pisces on Monday. This is a lovely, compassionate influence, also romantic and imaginative. While keeping in mind that we may be more idealistic than realistic, this is an opportunity to lead with our hearts instead of our minds.
.
Neptune is again in the driver’s seat on Tuesday, when it forms a square aspect to Mars in Sagittarius. We’re still being guided to take the higher road, but now there’s an inner conflict involved: should we “turn the other cheek” or fight for our beliefs? Remember that Neptune can cause a lack of clarity or confusion when it forms a hard aspect, so be cautious about taking concrete action. It may be best to press the “pause” button and re-engage later in the week, when the Neptunian fog has dissipated.
.
THE SLOW EXODUS of planets leaving Capricorn continues this week, with dwarf planet Ceres entering Aquarius on Thursday. As you may recall, Ceres was part of the conglomerate that met for the Saturn-Pluto alignment. As Earth Mother goddess, Ceres brought issues related to the environment and agriculture to the meeting, dramatically revealing the ways in which climate change is affecting weather patterns and the ecology of our planet.
.
As Ceres traverses Aquarius from now through the third week in April, we are supported in thinking in new ways about environmental problems. And, since Ceres is involved in the care and feeding of people and animals, individuals with creative solutions may apply them specifically to ways in which we might feed all who live on the Earth, so that none need go hungry. Ceres will go retrograde later in the year, and will briefly revisit Aquarius from the last week of September through the first week of November.
.

AND NOW, for one last time, here’s the webinar announcement:

After the Tornado
Airing Live and Recorded for Replay
Thursday, January 30, 2020
4 pm PST | 5 pm MST | 6 pm CST | 7 pm EST | 12 midnight GMT

.
AS THE FIRST SCENES
of “The Wizard of Oz” unfold, a tornado upends Dorothy’s world. It is the beginning of her hero’s journey, through which she eventually discovers how strong she truly is. Along the way, she encounters like-minded souls and gains a new sense of connection and community.

.
We’ve been talking for months about the astrological tornado of January 2020. During a single week, from January 8 to 15, an amazing number of significant planetary events occurred, clustered around a powerful Lunar Eclipse and the alignment between Saturn and Pluto.
.

IN THIS 90-MINUTE WEBINAR, I will first talk about how our experiences in January relate to these astrological events. This review is important to undertake, because our path through the rest of 2020 directly relates to what occurs in January.

From there, we’ll “ease on down the road” and explore in more depth the primary opportunities and obstacles we’ll encounter in the first half of 2020. Highlights include:
.
.

  • Jupiter’s alignments with Pluto, when spin-off tornados may occur, but we also have the opportunity for deep systemic change
  • Saturn’s entry into Aquarius and return to Capricorn, demanding progress and requiring completion of the old
  • The shift of the nodal axis into Gemini/Sagittarius, adding another level of karmic completion and evolutionary growth into the dynamic
  • The alignments of Pallas Athena with Jupiter and Pluto, inspiring new solutions and the empowerment of the feminine
    .
    .

Before the class airs, you’ll receive calendars of January through June, which you can use for note-taking. During the last half of class, we’ll move week-by-week through each monthly calendar, noting when there are important events. As always, I will do my best to “bring the stars down to Earth,” explaining in practical terms what the planets are doing, how they may affect us, and how we can best navigate these times by focusing on higher purposes and our own capacity for spiritual maturity.
.

I hope you can join us! If you can’t attend live, the class is recorded for replay at your convenience. All registrants receive an email with a link to the replay, audio replay, and PDF slideshow.
.

TO REGISTER: Visit https://pamfeb-june2020.eventbrite.com. The class fee is $33. Payment and registration may be handled online via PayPal or by check to Elsie Kerns, 2007 Rabbit Run Rd., Marlton, NJ 08053.

Once you register, you will receive emails from orders@eventbrite.com and noreply@eventbrite.com. Please check your spam folder if these emails do not appear in your inbox.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: If your solar return is in the first half of the coming week, you are completing a year-long phase in which you have been reinventing yourself, perhaps as the result of major changes in some area of your life. If your solar return falls in the last half of this week, you are in the beginning stages of this same process. Restlessness is to be expected, and respected, for it is showing you where you may be living according to “shoulds” instead of following your authentic path. Others may see you as being especially selfish this year, for your focus is very personal as you explore the truth of your being. Events in 2020 are connected in some way to your experiences in 1998, when Uranus was conjunct your Sun and you went through a major individuation process. (Solar Return Sun square Uranus, square Vesta)
.

In Gratitude and Light,

.
