Libra season is a beautiful time to energetically balance ourselves as we continue on our journeys, as well as open up to more conscious interactions with others. Venus enters Libra on Sept 29, one of her home signs and brings in more peace, harmony, and joy. Mercury stations direct on Oct 2 at 24 deg Virgo, which can feel like a ‘full stop’ before the energy gathers momentum to move forward. And the fourth Saturn-Uranus square begins this week, too, bringing our attention to two competing needs that are experiencing pressure and tension during the first half of the month. Much more to share in this week’s podcast episode.
Venus enters her sign of rulership this week – yay! Joining the Sun in Libra, Venus is going to offer beautiful stabilizing effect, however, that is not before we go through the process of stabilization. The sun begins its opposition to Chiron this week too – though, that’s not officially happening until the Full Moon in Aries conjunct Chiron on October 9th… but likely a process of illumination will occur. Mars is just inching forward now – throughout October he will only move 5 degrees in Gemini before retrograding in the Uranus-ruled decan of Gemini. ************************** Weekly Extended Readings for each zodiac sign are available for subscribers! As humanity continues on its rapid path to awakening, here in the non-physical realms we continue to watch with joy and delight at the remarkably rapid progress that you are all making on this demanding and often painful journey. Indeed we expected you to achieve this remarkable progress because you all most generously chose to make this much needed pilgrimage, and because it is the divine plan you cannot fail to complete it, perfectly. Nevertheless, it really is most uplifting and inspiring for us to watch and observe you dealing so positively with all the untoward and unexpected issues that arise for you, even though it may often seem to you that you are not making progress, that you are not competent for the task that you have undertaken, and leading you to experience feelings of helplessness and unworthiness. And all of this is indeed an underlying and very unsettling…

As we reach the latter stages of the year, momentous changes are under way. The pesky “upset the apple cart” square between Saturn and Uranus, a fixture during chaotic 2021, is realigning and gaining strength. Saturn represents the powers that be, conservatism and respect for the past. Uranus rules progressive thinking, advances in technology and the notion that we humans are one family, all in this life together. Saturn is regressive and at times repressive while Uranus is evolutionary and loves freedom. Historically, eras when these two planets test each other often bring tumult and leaps in the collective consciousness.
Faced with the uncertainties of climate change, overpopulation and a lack of political leadership due to rampant greed, corruption, ineptitude and denial, millions question authority in countries around the globe. Many more people are simply too busy trying to survive day-to-day to consider the political fray. Under the Saturn/Uranus square, with its one step forward, two steps back pacing, progress comes in halting steps.
Our own nation is in the throes of its first Pluto return, when the outermost planet returns to the degree it occupied on July 4, 1776. In 2022 there are three exact return dates, a once in two-hundred-and-fifty year event. These returns take several years to play out. They herald the collapse of some empires and the rebirth of others.
No doubt we are at a crossroads. Pluto is always about the use of power, who holds it and what purposes are served. The November midterm elections are crucial to the fate of our country. That morning’s powerful full Moon/lunar eclipse underscores the need for participation. At the end of the Constitutional Convention Benjamin Franklin opined, “It’s a republic, if you can keep it.” A republic may no longer be sufficient. Hopefully in this election cycle our country will finally live up to its ideal of a more perfect union and become a more functional democracy.
We’re off to a jaunty start as the month begins. Optimism is writ large in the stars as Mars is sextile Jupiter the morning of Thursday, the 1st. Under Friday’s Mercury/Jupiter opposition trains, automobiles and flights are filled with countless holiday weekend travelers. Pay attention on Saturday, the 3rd when the waxing Moon tangles with Mars and the Sun. Morning stress levels can be intense. Unrest eases by late afternoon. Sunday evening is a holiday bright spot. It’s an excellent time for a party or date with a special someone.
Time passes quickly during the back to school and work week. Tuesday, the 6th and Wednesday feel bright and busy. Even as the Moon waxes full, Mercury slows and turns retrograde on Friday, the 9th. Now in Libra, the Messenger of the Gods stays retrograde until October 2nd. Much of the retrograde period sees Mercury at odds with Jupiter. With the midterm elections a mere two months away, a flood of political news and shifting opinions is likely. Carefully scrutinize the source of your information. Be on the lookout for ulterior motives and hidden agendas. TV content is called “programming” for good reason. Mercury retrograde can actually be good for critical thinking, second looks and drawing knowledge from past events and personal experience.
The full Harvest Moon is exact in Pisces at 5:59 in the morning on Saturday, the 10th. Empathy, compassion and humanitarian impulses are stimulated. From Taurus, Uranus functions as a beacon of possibility. Tune out angry, strident voices. The path forward is kind and inclusionary, as well as open-minded. Dream of a better world.
After a quieter few days the Sun is at odds with confusing Neptune on Friday, the 16th. The conjunct Moon and Venus square Mars that same day. Dissatisfaction can be great, although the true cause may not be obvious. Some may seek to exploit differences between the sexes. Debates may be lively over the weekend. Many questions are answered by the night of Sunday, the 18th. Monday, the 19th has enormous romantic and social potential.
The fall equinox is Thursday, the 22nd. The Sun enters Libra that night. The hours of daylight and darkness are in balance and autumn begins. Stay on top of weather reports on Friday, the 23rd. A fresh activity cycle begins with the Libra new Moon the evening of Sunday, the 25th. Political passions are inflated as the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus oppose Neptune and Jupiter. Seekers of truth and fair play feel encouraged. We must give respect if we are going to receive it. Set your intentions for the coming weeks. Monday the 26th is both eye-opening and pleasurable. The last week of the month feels busy and productive.
Personal initiative is strong the morning of the 1st. Running errands or doing household chores goes more smoothly and enjoyably with many hands pitching in. Distractions multiply Saturday afternoon, and the battle to focus continues into Sunday when Mercury resumes forward motion. Partners may demand attention at inconvenient moments. The first quarter Capricorn Moon adds to Sunday evening turbulence. Be understanding and patient. Let certain obligations ride, and spend quality time with family and friends.
Goals are within reach as the Moon waxes during the week of the 3rd. The weekend of the 8th and 9th is high energy. Pluto resumes forward motion Saturday evening. The direction change ratchets up the public will to redirect our nation’s course. Resistance is also likely to rise. In a democracy it’s supposed to be about the numbers. The whole idea is majority rules. The Moon enters Aries on Sunday at midday. The current activity cycle reaches its zenith with the full Hunter’s Moon on Sunday afternoon, the 9th. Venus is close to the Libra Sun, giving peace, love and understanding a fighting chance. An air sign grand trine composed of the Sun, Mars and Saturn encourages reasonable discussions.
Mercury returns to Libra the evening of Monday, the 10th. Holding some people to their word becomes more challenging as mixed trends move in. Stick to the tried and true as the Sun aligns with Saturn on Tuesday, the 11th. Mars’ midweek square to Neptune stirs fears and controversies. Disinformation is a serious threat. Weather conditions may also be problematic. The working week ends on a positive note. As Venus aligns with Saturn early Friday morning, alliances are solid.
Energized Monday, the 17th features a motivational last quarter Moon. The Sun’s evening trine to Mars helps many people power through the day’s challenges. Venus forms another trine to the Red Planet the following day, sustaining friendly vibes, happiness and passionate affections. Relationships require care on Wednesday, the 19th when both the Sun and Venus are at odds with Pluto. Jealousy can be an unpleasant factor. The Sun’s Saturday afternoon conjunction with Venus puts many hearts in an excellent place. This is a great day to make peace and share love.
Sunday, the 23rd brings a sea change. The Sun and Venus enter Scorpio, and Saturn resumes forward motion. The stakes seem to be growing higher. It is impossible to ignore the karmic implications of words and deeds. The stage is now set for autumn eclipse season. As is often the case, there will be two this fall. Tuesday, the 25th brings the Scorpio new Moon, a solar eclipse. Revelations are the order of the day. Secrets are outed, leaders may fall. Pay close attention to inner guidance. As with all eclipse weeks, unexpected events are more than likely to impact plans. As the new activity cycle is now under way, be ready to invent, improvise and change course.
Retrograde Jupiter slips back into Pisces on Friday, the 28th, stirring hearts and imaginations. The shift also evokes deeper concern for others. The first half of Halloween feels celebratory. The Moon’s late morning entry into Aquarius initiates more stressful energies. Pay attention if you plan to be out tonight.
A massive, tense fixed sign configuration dominates the early November skies. Five planets plus the fateful lunar nodes are involved. Flexibility is one key to managing the dynamic energies. Tenacity is another. The trick is knowing when to bend, when to stand firm, and when to forge ahead. There may be no perfect option available on Tuesday, the 1st. Consider adopting an “if in doubt, wait” approach. Roadblocks begin to clear tomorrow afternoon, and by Thursday, the 3rd substantial progress is made. Teamwork is facilitated. There could be surprising economic news on or around Saturday, the 5th as Venus opposes unpredictable Uranus. Some social ties are strained, others break apart. An unexpected expense could also arise.
The week of the 7th is filled with grave challenges. Election Day, Tuesday, the 8th, features the full Beaver Moon in Taurus, a lunar eclipse. The eclipsed Moon is exactly conjunct the erratic but sometimes ingenious Uranus. The Scorpio Sun, Venus and Mercury are conjunct. All five opposing planets are at odds with Saturn, the karmic scorekeeper. The cosmic energies are formidable. Use them wisely for transformational growth, breaking free of confining situations and living a more ethical, fulfilling life.
Participation in these midterms is likely to be massive, a clear response to last summer’s Supreme Court rulings. Efforts to undermine the will of voters are also probable as the Moon symbolizes public sentiment. Not everyone will be pleased with the results. By Thursday, the 10th Mercury is in a testing square with Saturn. Friday, the 11th sees the Sun also square to the Ringed Planet. Proceed slowly and deliberately. Respect rules and regulations. Protestors will likely face draconian treatment by the powers that be.
Silver linings are more apparent over the weekend. Some controversies are resolved. Hopes are on the rise as Mercury, Venus and the Sun harmonize with Neptune from Saturday, the 12th through Monday, the 14th. Venus’ trine to Jupiter makes Monday night spectacularly enjoyable. Friday, the 18th brings headaches as well as hard won gains. Mars’ square to Neptune during Saturday morning can be a harbinger of treacherous weather. Dress appropriately and use safeguards if you’re using tools or machinery.
The busiest of the holiday travel weeks actually kicks off early this year. On Sunday, the 20th a solar trine to Jupiter is a cosmic green light signal. Optimism is reinforced on Monday, the 21st as Venus and Mercury link up in philosophical Sagittarius. The Sun enters Sagittarius early on Tuesday, the 22nd. Plans may be in flux but the very next day, Wednesday, the 23rd brings a frisky and enlightening new Moon. The Sun, Moon, Venus and Mercury are all conjunct in freedom-loving Sagittarius. The planetary stellium’s trine to retrograde Jupiter and Neptune in late Pisces foretells many wonderful reunions during the coming weeks.
After all the celestial fireworks, the final week of November is relatively quiet. Take advantage of muscular trends on Sunday, the 27th and Monday, the 28th. These can be fruitful days. Maintain a steady pace on Tuesday, the 29th and make course adjustments on the 30th.
Thursday the 1st is a long and winding road. From a post-midnight opposition between Venus and Mars until Venus sextiles Saturn towards day’s end, numerous aspects keep the emotional landscape varied. If you’re busy with work or holiday planning, be on guard against oversights and misplaced items. Clarity and momentum take an uptick just before midnight, and energy levels stay high through the first half of the weekend. Sunday is relatively calm.
The waxing Taurus Moon unites with Uranus at midday on Monday, the 2nd. Life takes surprising turns. Hopes compete with fears that night, but building lunar energy pulls us on towards Wednesday night’s full Moon in Gemini. The volatile full Cold Moon, exact an hour before midnight, is exactly conjunct Mars. A war of words could erupt. Think carefully before speaking. A testing angle from Neptune increases the chances of a miscalculation. Be kind and quick to forgive.
Holiday preparations and parties are in full swing during the middle of the month. Check the weather forecasts on and around Wednesday, the 14th when the Sun is at odds with Neptune. Saturday, the 17th is a fine time for gatherings and meeting people. The diminishing energy of the waning lunar cycle runs counter to building anticipation for the holidays. At the winter solstice, Wednesday, the 21st, the Sun’s entry into Capricorn and shortest day of the year, the Sun forms an enlivening square to Jupiter. A torch of hope is lit. Expectations are enormous. Solstice observances are also graced by Venus’ magical trine to Uranus.
On Friday, the 23rd the Capricorn new Moon launches a new activity cycle. Saturday, the 24th sees wonderful auspices for travel and socializing. Holiday traditions are taken to heart. Sunday, the 25th brings an Aquarius Moon that is well-aligned with Jupiter and Mars. Stories and camaraderie are shared in equal measure. Be careful if you are out late that night. Mercury’s retrograde on the 29th is likely to bring touching reunions and realizations. A family secret could be revealed.
Happy New Year! Harmony between the Taurus Moon and Capricorn Sun bodes well for a very comfortable New Year’s Day. The Moon’s proximity to her north node and Uranus are perfect for envisioning the future as you would like it to be. Divine inspiration is also available. Spirits remain high as the Moon waxes during the first week of the year. Count your blessings as Venus aligns with Jupiter on Wednesday, the 4th. The Sun’s trine to Uranus buoys progressives the following day, an excellent time for planning. The Cancer full Wolf Moon on Friday evening of the 6th is an eye-opening experience. Tribes gather and we draw on the past to prepare for what lies ahead. Discuss options and rework plans over the weekend of the 7th and 8th.
Mars, retrograde in Gemini since late October, resumes forward motion the afternoon of January 12th. A stalled project could suddenly take on new life. Some partners require special care around Tuesday, the 14th. Breezy Venus in Aquarius is testing Uranus, highlighting the reality that relationships have their seasons and require periodic renewal. Giving others space makes sense and with the Sun overtaking Pluto on Thursday, the 16th, finding a healthy balance of give and take is necessary.
On Friday, the 20th, the Sun enters visionary Aquarius. The Aquarius new Moon the afternoon of the 21st reinforces commitments to the welfare of friends and extended family groups. Where fair play and loyalty are missing, it could be time to sever ties. Uranus resumes forward motion on Sunday evening, the 22nd. More financial instability and earth changes are to be expected.
Thoughts of the future are particularly detailed and expansive due to a solar sextile with confidence-building Jupiter on the 24th. As Venus arrives in Pisces the night of Thursday, the 26th be aware that feelings grow more tender. Over the weekend of the 28th and 29th a dynamic angle between the Sun and Mars fosters a brisk pace. Saturday night is a good one for socializing.
While the comforts of home, family, friends and familiar faces are notable the first days of the month, the forces of change are building. The Sun’s square to Uranus the night of Friday, the 3rd underscores the fragility of life. Happy or sad, a waxing Moon adds to the intensity of feelings. Relationship challenges are sparked on Saturday, the 4th. Worries culminate with the full Snow Moon in Leo the afternoon of Sunday, the 5th. Some souls need to be the center of attention but excessive amounts of ego can stand in the way of friendship. Being up front about insecurities alleviates anxieties.
A mellower week follows. As Valentine’s Day nears, the heart-stirring worlds of the creative arts, spiritual wisdom and love are illuminated. The 14th is a fantastic day for sending as well as receiving cards and gifts that express affection. Venus’ approach to Neptune culminates with a conjunction the morning of Wednesday, the 15th. A Sun/Saturn conjunction quickly follows on the 16th. It’s time for a reality check. Either commit fully and dive deeper in or move on. Halfway measures will not do.
Forgiveness is a powerful undercurrent on Friday, the 17th. Send messages of loving concern. Make travel arrangements. Optimistic trends continue into Saturday, the 18th. The Sun enters Pisces Saturday evening. The weekend is the ideal time to mend fences with estranged friends and associates. Concentrate on tying up other loose ends as the Moon reaches the end of her cycle.
The Pisces new Moon of Monday, the 20th heralds a new activity phase and the coming of spring. With the Sun and Moon still close to Saturn, winter may seem to linger interminably in many parts of the world. Venus enters Aries the same day, breaking through some of winter’s doldrums. Be on the lookout for schedule disruptions on Tuesday, the 21st. Even the most carefully planned events are subject to unexpected changes. Much like slowly melting winter snowpacks, the last days of the month are quiet. Expectations are increasing. Venus’ pending conjunction with Jupiter boosts confidence as well as joie de vivre as March nears. Believe in the power of love!

This lifetime brings up big soul growth healing, endings, and wisdom as Earth travels further away from the Age of Pisces and continues to enter the Age of Aquarius. Each Age lasts just over 2,100 years as Earth moves through different constellations in the sky and opens up significant themes on the planet for us to consciously move through. Both the lower and higher expressions of Pisces and Aquarius are prominent now, as we are each moving through these energies in our own experiences in this lifetime. Happy Equinox and New Moon in Libra! The Equinox became exact at 9:03 PM New York time on Thursday, September 22 (01:03 GMT on September 23), and the New Moon in almost 3 degrees of Libra becomes exact at 5:54 PM New York time (21:54 GMT) on Sunday, September 25.
Each time the season turns, it is a cause for celebration! In the Pagan tradition, the Autumnal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere is called Mabon. It is a festival celebrating the middle of harvest season—a time to give thanks for and to indulge in the abundance of crops available to consume.
You can take this literally and indulge in healthy fall fruits and vegetables like squashes and apples! Also, you can take this figuratively and give thanks for all the abundance in your life right now.
Look in your refrigerator. Is it full of food? Visit your local supermarket—is it teeming with aisles and aisles of delicacies from around the world? This is really quite a miracle, but we often take it for granted.
There are billions of people around the world that can barely afford to feed themselves and their families, and even then, they may only be able to survive by eating a meager diet of rice or junk processed foods. There are millions of people under the dark influence of war in Eastern Europe right now, constantly fearing for their safety.
Do you have friends and family in your life right now? I know, you want more friends and a new family (LOL), but on this Equinox, give thanks for the friends and family that you do have. Most of our Soul Lessons are worked out in relationships. No one comes into your life by accident. So give thanks to God/Source/Universe/Creator for all of the social connections in your life, be them in person or online.
A great practical exercise you can do to honor the Equinox is to make a gratitude journal or list. Write down at least 20 things you are grateful for (they can be anything). This can be a daily practice if you wish! FINDING THE BALANCE IN YOUR LIFE
On the Equinox, day and night are of approximately equal length everywhere on the planet! This only happens twice a year. So on this special celestial event of day and night being in perfect equal harmony, ask yourself if you are in perfect equal harmony?
If you had to guess, which side of you is more dominant: the intuitive, emotional Divine Feminine side or the logical, practical Divine Masculine side?
Also, which side of you requires more healing: the Shadow Masculine (which can manifest as overagressiveness, greed, narcissism, or impatience) or the Shadow Feminine (martyrdom, codependency, playing small, afraid to say no)?
Take some time to contemplate and journal on how you could improve the balance between your masculine and feminine sides.
Does your physical life feel like it is in balance? For Lightworkers, it is often more comfortable for us to engage in meditation and spiritual practices, but our grounded 3D life can often remain out of sorts. If you want to truly make it to 5D and be able to stay there consistently, you’ll need to get your 3D life in order so that it naturally becomes a 5D life.
Here are some other Equinox-themed questions of self-inquiry that you can ask yourself. It might be helpful to journal on these:
Am I as grounded as I am idealistic?
Do I spend as much time taking care of my present-time Earthly responsibilities as I do meditating, reading spiritual books, or doing other spiritual things? Or, conversely, am I not allowing enough time for myself to focus on my spiritual life?
Do I spend enough time expressing myself artistically or creatively on a consistent basis?
Am I taking the best care of my physical body? Does my diet need to be cleaned up? Am I drinking the cleanest water? Am I exercising daily? Am I sleeping enough? Are there health issues that need to be addressed?
Am I balancing time spent on social media or on my phone with time spent outdoors connecting with nature?
Do I spend as much time appreciating all that I have now as I do dreaming of more, desiring more, or being jealous of those who have more?
Do I spend as much time loving myself as I do giving love to others
Do I spend enough time taking care of myself? Do I spend too much time taking care of others? Or conversely, do I need to give more to others?
Do I give and receive equally?
Do I allow myself time to relax to balance out the time I spend working hard?
If I had to guess, which side of me needs most of my attention right now? The physical? Mental? Emotional? Or spiritual?
Which areas of my life feel most out of balance—career, relationships, health, daily practices, etc?Which areas feel most in balance?
What steps can I take in the near future to bring more balance to the parts of my life that feel out of balance?
What plan can I make for the far future to experience a complete balance and optimization between all areas of my life?
If you’d like to really dive in and work on balancing all areas of your life, I’d recommend checking out my Creating the 5D You Mastery Empowerment Course: https://payhip.com/b/2wUt.
NEW MOON IN LIBRA OPPOSITE JUPITER
The Equinox marked the moment the sun moved into Libra. This New Moon occurs at approximately 3 degrees of Libra, opposite Jupiter (with exactly 1 degree of orb).
Libra is a cardinal air sign. A cardinal sign signals the beginning of a season! Libra is in charge of welcoming in autumn in the Northern Hemisphere and spring in the Southern Hemisphere. As tropical astrology was created to align the signs with the Northern Hemisphere seasons, it makes sense that fall is ruled by an air sign, with the leaves flying through the air and the wind blowing, foretelling the return of winter soon.
Libra is a cardinal air sign that is represented by the glyph of scales, demonstrating the need for balance and harmony as one of the irreplaceable facets of a healthy life. Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love and relationships. Libra is associated with relationships—including romantic and familial—and diplomacy, fairness and balance. It is the ruler of the 7th House, which is the House of Partnerships, governing—as you might guess—relationships and partnerships.
During Libra season, we have the opportunity to create balance and harmony in all areas of life. It is also the perfect time to make amends where amends need to be made. Mercury is still Retrograde, but now it has moved backward into Virgo.
Mercury conjucts Venus and trines Pluto, making it a good time to revisit unsettled energies from romantic relationships from the past, if you feel the need to. With Mercury and Venus in Virgo, logically talking things out will be the way to make progress in achieving energetic resolution.
I’ll spend some time later in this article discussing both family and romantic relationship dynamics from a soul level, as this is also very much a Libra topic.
There are two really significant aspects being made in this New Moon chart: one is the sun and moon opposing the Retrograde Jupiter in Aries, as I previously mentioned; and the other is Saturn and Uranus coming into a nearly-direct square with one another (just 41 minutes of orb).
Oppositions are very polarizing aspects. So, on one hand this opposition provides an opportunity to create success and growth—especially in relationships—and can make us feel quite friendly and generous toward others; but on the other hand, it also creates the risk for uninhibited growth, in an unbalanced way, and for people to get greedy.
Saturn and Uranus have been squaring one another on and off since about the beginning of last year. Saturn and Uranus squaring can cause violence and unexpected geopolitical events and natural disasters. They also squared one another during the Great Depression from 1929-31.
A good example of the negative side of these aspects currently playing out in the outside world right now is the sick psychopath Putin drawing up 300,000 Russian soldiers—many unwilling to fight–from the general populace to try to save face in a war he’s clearly losing. It makes me so sad that so many people are dying, families are being ruined, nature is being poisoned, and the safety of the entire world is at serious risk, all because just one psychopath wants to leave some sort of sick legacy of conquering land before he dies.
Another negative example is the plethora of tropical storm activity we are currently seeing in the Atlantic. Post-Tropical Cyclone Fiona has just battered the Maritimes of Canada after causing a ton of destruction in Puerto Rico, Bermuda and the Dominican Republic. Please pray and visualize protection and recovery for all those that have been affected by Fiona.
In addition to Fiona, we have Tropical Storm Gaston, which seems to be on track to strike Florida; and Tropical Storm Hermine, which could end up heading anywhere, really.
The moon-Jupiter conjunction could also temporarily cause mental health issues to worsen.
The Saturn-Uranus square is coinciding with very real recession concerns. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped nearly 500 points the other day following the Federal Reserve’s third consecutive 75 basis point interest rate hike, putting us at the highest interest rates since 2008. Fed Chair Jerome Powell has also announced that the plan is to sharply increase unemployment in order to decrease demand for products (how cruel).
I think that more pain is in store for the stock and cryptocurrency markets. I think we are at the beginning stages of a multi-year worldwide recession that will serve the desire of the powers that be to almost eviscerate the middle class in first world countries. The rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer. So, now is a crucial time to build your wealth. And remember that in a recession, the safest asset is the dollar.
Because Saturn and Uranus are both outer planets, they will affect the collective and the outside world more—however on an individual level, this powerful square could cause you to have unanticipated emotional outbursts or to act overaggressively in any situation where you feel stuck or restricted.
Keep this in mind, and remember to take a pause before responding emotionally in any situation (unless you are in some sort of danger, of course!) It is difficult to keep a level head in the heat of a moment, so the key is usually to allow some time to pass before responding or addressing a situation at hand, when you are feeling less emotional and thinking more logically, pragmatically, and with a keen eye toward what you want to manifest in the future.
On the positive side, a good example of this opposition playing out in a benevolent way in the outside world is Yvon Chouinard, the aging billionaire owner of Patagonia, giving away most of his fortune to fighting climate change.
This would be a great time to make donations to charity, and to give things away to friends and family as you feel called to!
As promised, let’s dive deeper into discussing the topic of healing family and romantic relationships.
HEALING FAMILY & ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS
As I mentioned before, one of the great things about Mercury Retrograde is that it gives us the opportunity to renegotiate and heal difficult family and romantic relationships. With Mercury conjunct Venus, it is an especially good time to work on the latter.
One of the most fascinating parts of my spiritual skills/Service Work is that I have the special ability to read the karmic ties between two people. You can be assured that almost always, those people in your life with whom you have had the most complicated relationships with (think family members, close friends and romantic lovers) are people that you’ve known before in past lives.
You see, souls like to ‘dress up’ and play different characters in each others’ plays. Your mother may have been your brother in another lifetime. Your husband may have been your daughter in another lifetime. Souls that know each other well often incarnate with each other over and over. These souls that you know well may be fellow souls in your Soul Group of twelve—or if not, then they likely are in your Monadic Group of 144 souls.
When two souls that know each other quite well dress up as different characters and have different relationships between each other in a series of lifetimes, karma is accumulated between those two souls.
In this context, think of karma as a log of every word spoken and experience shared between two souls when they are incarnated at the same time on the Earth. Your history with your current boyfriend, girlfriend, mom, or dad likely goes much deeper than just what you can remember from your current lifetime.
The natural trajectory of all things is balance and resolution (which is exactly the energy that Libra brings to the Zodiac Wheel)—and it is no different in this case. Each soul desires to resolve any past negative karma with other souls. Sometimes, it is planned for the resolution to happen in this lifetime, but sometimes not. Sometimes the resolution may be planned for a subsequent lifetime or for after one or both of the souls has left their physical body and is now existing in an afterlife realm.
As Lightworkers, we naturally want to resolve everything. We generally carry a deep-down aversion to people being mad at us or disappointed in us. Lightworkers tend to be martyrs and people pleasers rather than narcissists. However, although the natural trajectory of all karmic relationships is complete resolution, it may not always be the right time for that to happen. One of the most difficult lessons for many Lightworkers could be to learn when to walk away or cut someone out of their life.
Please receive these words clearly and with compassion: you are under no obligation to continue to receive someone’s abuse or negative energy simply because they are your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, son, daughter, mother, father, friend, or co-worker. You have complete free will to cut anyone out of your life if you feel so inclined.
I know this is not an easy thing to talk about, but you are likewise under no obligation to continue to be emotionally and energetically drained by someone, no matter your history with them. I realize that sometimes it is not practical nor possible to completely cut someone out of your life—or you may not want to or be ready to–but in many instances the solution may be to keep some geographical distance between you and that person or to just interact with that person less often.
You don’t have to pick up the phone every time someone calls. You don’t have to respond to every text. You don’t have to hang out with a person every time they are feeling sad or want to complain about their boyfriend or boss or mother. You don’t have to tolerate being drained.
But there are of course relationships that you do want to keep. You don’t want to avoid the other person, but there are some difficulties that need to be worked through. For these kinds of relationships, we can harness all the Libra energy in the stars right now to harmonize.
With the Retrograde Mercury in Virgo making an out-of-sign conjunction with the sun and moon, the most important factor that will give us the opportunity to harmonize our relationships is effective communication—and focusing on the details. And the best way to keep focused on the details is to be a good listener!
Listening to someone else deeply and fully is one of the best gifts that you can give somebody. Practice listening without immediately inputting your opinion—try letting someone just let out everything they need to say, so they feel fully heard, and then speak your mind. Usually when people feel listened to, they’ll be more apt to listen better to what you have to say.
The Libra energies support a healthy back-and-forth dialogue. With the sun and moon forming a wide trine (over 6 degrees of orb) with the Retrograde Pluto in Capricorn–and with Venus and Mercury forming nearly exact trines to Pluto–it’s a wonderful time to heal perceived issues of misuse of power between people (especially in families and partnerships); and to establish a more commensurate balance of power between you and others–that can cultivate a healthier relationship for both you and other into the future.
As Libra rules the House of Partnerships (the 7th), it also very much has to do with romantic relationships. Unquestionably, the one factor that differentiates successful, harmonious, long-lasting romantic relationships from those that come and go with frustration, is effective communication.
When things are left unsaid between lovers—or when what is said is vague and unclear–it builds up tension in both parties. Even the most unintuitive person can sense that something is amiss when a lover isn’t telling them something important.
There are cases where people stay married for decades while still holding back from telling their partner their true feelings. Oftentimes, people get into a long-term relationship and things become familiar. They end up literally becoming afraid of what life would be like without their partner. They may wish their partner would radically change, or deep down they may wish that they had the courage to walk away–but they believe these endeavors would be futile.
Afraid to leave the marriage, they just bottle up the resentment inside. This type of resentment can even manifest itself as illness years down the line if the feelings are not dealt with and the necessary difficult conversations are not had.
If we want to build 5th-dimensional partnerships, the most important facet is open communication. When the communication is open from the start, it is a lot less likely that one partner will feel afraid to bring something up to the other later in the relationship.
If you’ve been in a relationship for awhile where the energy feels stagnant and you feel like there is a lot that has been left unsaid, one helpful tip is to plan an excursion out in public and plan to have a difficult conversation there (or alternatively just go on a walk with your partner).
Getting outside of your home (if you live together)–in which the energy has become stagnant–and into a fresh environment with fresh energy can also bring fresh energy to the way that you and your partner have become accustomed to communicating with one another.
Venus in Virgo trines the Retrograde Pluto in Capricorn nearly directly on this New Moon. This aspect causes us to feel intense passion and sexual desire. If you’re in a romantic relationship, it’s a great time to revisit and augment the romantic and sexual passion that first brought you two together as a couple! Enhancing the romantic and sexual passion in relationships can go a long way toward repairing the broken aspects of the relationship.
Of course, the truth is sometimes relationships—whether romantic or familial—are irreparable, at least for the time being. Sometimes a relationship requires a period of separation before two people can really come back and repair what had been damaged.
Or sometimes a relationship needs to reach its conclusion, and the karmic issues will need to be worked out later when the two people are in a different stage in their lives, or even in future lifetimes, or the dream space, or afterlife realms.
EXPLORING YOUR MASCULINE AND FEMININE SIDES
As I mentioned earlier, the Equinox and New Moon in Libra present the perfect time to create greater balance and harmony between your masculine and feminine sides. If when you are contemplating and journaling on your masculine and feminine aspects, you feel that you could use a greater influx of healthy Divine Feminine energies, then regardless of your sex or gender, allow yourself to indulge in things like beauty, art, softness and pleasure.
And if it’s Divine Masculine energies you need an influx of, push yourself to exercise, play sports, build or fix things, etc.
Ultimately of course we should strive to achieve a balance between our masculine and feminine energies and we should be participating in both Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine activities often! But at certain points in our journey, we will need more of an influx of one rather than the other.
JEWISH NEW YEAR
I also want to acknowledge that this New Moon is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. It is the beginning of the new year on the Hebrew Calendar. So Happy Rosh Hashanah to all that celebrate!
Wishing you a Happy Equinox, a Blessed Mabon (to those that celebrate), a Happy Rosh Hashanah (to those that celebrate), and a Happy New Moon in Libra!
