(Part 1) Friday (Feb. 10th): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day .
Friday afternoon, an opportune Mercury/Venus aspect becomes exact at 4:19pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on; it will be strong until Sunday. This aspect gives us the opportunity for more direct and caring connections to others.
Enhanced communication abilities help us clear up any misunderstandings or discomfort from the past, particularly in love relationships. This is also an opportune time to make new social contacts, especially with like-minded people. Remember: this is an “opportunity” — those aren’t necessarily handed to us, we have to actively take advantage of them.
Friday evening, at 7:33pm EST: the Moon opposes the Sun in 22 degrees of Leo. This extra-powerful Full Moon is the first of two Eclipses within the next four weeks. As such, its energy is more intense than your typical Full Moon; given that it’s happening in the Leo/Aquarius polarity, it’s all about becoming aware of dogmatic, rigid thinking and opening our heart chakras. As we do this, we can open more to joy, and be more playful.

This Eclipse provides the first glimpse into the shift of the Moon Nodes, from Virgo/Pisces to Leo/Aquarius, due to take effect on May 9th. It also launches a 23-month series of Eclipses connected to the Leo/Aquarius polarity — the last time we experienced a set of Eclipses with this particular combo was 18.5 years ago… Think back to 1998/1999: What major life changes did you go through?
Lunar Eclipses generally bring attention to our “emotional body” and connect us more fully to our Soul’s journey (as shown by the Moon Nodes). We become aware of what has been suppressed or ignored. Life-changing revelations are more likely over the next two weeks — and with them, shifts in our consciousness…the impact of any Eclipse’s energy also last longer than a regular Lunation; usually for 6 months, until the next set of Eclipses becomes exact.
I will talk about these upcoming Eclipses in more detail in my next Forecasting Forum — if you want to know how the Eclipses are going to impact you personally, feel free to join us — we will apply what’s coming up, to our own birth charts. The forum is tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 11th at 2pm EST/7pm GMT (London-time); for more info or to register, click here: http://goo.gl/O7mDgJ
This particular Eclipse focuses on authentic self-expression and creativity. We want to ask ourselves: What might open up if we were more heart-centered in our self-expression? More courageous? Might we be too much in our heads? What would things look like, if we allowed our light to shine just a little brighter?
We are also invited to allow head and our heart to merge, bringing about a brighter future for humankind — what would it look like if we created such a balance? What if we each chose, right here and now, to contribute to humanity from a courageous, heart-centered and authentic place? What if you simply made that choice right now?
This powerful Full Moon also reminds us that everyone has the power to make a difference in the world, whether on a large scale or small — and when we join together, that power gets exponentially bigger: 3+3 is actually 3×3, 4+4 becomes 4×4, etc.
This makes it important to be especially aware and responsible when we are with others. What are we bringing forth? What are our intentions?
If we want to see a greater shift in the world at large (an Aquarian concern), we must each do our own part and express our unique gifts (Leo’s imperative). That said, if we don’t come from the heart — or get stuck in rigid, dogmatic thinking — we will not be able to fulfill on that vision.
(Part 2) Friday (Feb. 10th): the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Leo cont.: Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, is still making a square to Pluto in Capricorn and an opposition to Jupiter in Libra. We are invited to be more honest with ourselves and others (especially about our fears and desires), and to be more open to new ways of thinking, doing, and achieving.
In fact, you could say we are being invited to bring an innovative approach to who we are — and to our interactions with others… In other words: To step it up — and walk our unique path. Inspire others. Life is too short to waste on things we are less than fully passionate about, that don’t fully express our uniqueness.
We are definitely being pulled in many different directions with this T-Square — in fact, radical personal and collective changes are quite possible right now — so have the courage to think differently and explore new directions… go as far as you dare and tap into the courage of an open heart.
Flexibility, thinking outside the box, and self-care are critical! Self-care is particularly important in times of stress and/or change — basic things, like making sure that we eat healthily and regularly, drink plenty of water, exercise, get plentiful rest — and let in affection from friends, family, or pets. Connecting to what feels supportive in order to stay grounded and regenerate ourselves can be very helpful as well.
It’s this simple: if we don’t maintain our physical bodies, we will not be able to maintain the pace, or meet the demands placed on us right now.
If you’d like to gain a deeper understanding of this T-Square, I recommend you click here and check out a collection of New Moon/Full Moon videos I’ve been posting since November that talk in more depth about this particular aspect: goo.gl/l08FGE
In the case of this particular Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, we have not only a Sun/Moon opposition, but also a Grand Fire Trine involving the Moon in Leo, Saturn in Sagittarius, and Uranus in Aries — and (as they say on TV): that’s not all!
We also have lots of Sextiles in the Fire/Air elements: Moon in Leo with Jupiter in Libra, with Saturn in Sagittarius, with the Sun in Aquarius, with Uranus in Aries… and last but not least… Mercury in Aquarius makes a sextile with Venus in Aries.
Wow! With this many planets in the Fire and Air elements, we can definitely expect to feel more extroverted, and ready to move things forward in the outside world. These aspects all bring opportunities for connecting with others from a mature, yet heart-centered place, while replacing and modifying “old” thinking/belief structures. We are supported in the slow elimination of whatever no longer serves the collective and our future on this planet.
Ask yourself: What could I express responsibly and joyfully, that might bring about change in my own life — and perhaps even inspire others to follow my example? What actions could I take that would serve the collective? Or a particular group of people? Who could use my support at this time? And how can I give it?
We don’t always realize how much power we have in that regard — that we can really touch people and move the collective. One small way we can do that is to send out meditative or beautiful energies, to people in our lives that we want to support, and even beyond that to the “collective”. These small actions can have a ripple effect…
We can also give by taking action in communities we want to support — by giving of our time, money, love. We can facilitate (or simply allow) people to be heard. Listening, sharing from the heart… there are so many ways we can affect the collective. Disrupt the pattern, brainstorm on your own or with other people, ask “how can I give my support…?”
We are encouraged during this Full Moon to acknowledge that we are all in this together, and that each one of us has the ability to effect change by tapping into our courage, and by living our vision in every moment — in Mahatma Gandhi’s famous words, to “be the change you want to see in the world”.
For this Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse you could ask yourself: Where could I be the voice, visionary, and hero/heroine of my story? What is my role at this pivotal time? What actions might inspire others to follow my lead? Remember: No effort is too small, no step too modest… And most important of all, perhaps: it’s never too late to be the one who makes a difference — especially when it comes from the heart and feels authentic!
A final note about Eclipses: they’re consciousness upgrades. For 7 – 10 days before and after one, we are usually in uncharted territory — anything is possible and it’s wise to expect the unexpected. Anything brand-new started during this time will likely not pan out the way we thought it would, often because important information comes to light only after Eclipse season is over.
For that reason, try to defer any major brand-new projects until after March 12th, when this particular Eclipse season ends. That said, if something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic, allow it to “be”… Just be wary of the urge to push something forward merely to relieve anxiety or impatience.
